This book is NOT for persons who want to learn how to draw. It is a technical textbook with pages of long descriptions of various techniques, but nothing that could be construed as 'step by step' instruction.
The book has lots of photographs of the author's student's work, but they are placed as finished examples of what the author is discussing in the text. There are a lot of photos that are repeated, being shown in one or more places as black and white, and then later as a full color image.
